About

We are a group of Belarusians living in France who organize Orthodox services in the Belarusian language. Our first Belarusian liturgy took place in March 2023.

We collaborate with Belarusians in Poland, who translate prayers from Greek into modern Belarusian, and we adapt the music of Belarusian composers to those translations. The purpose of this site is to share the results with Belarusians around the world.

Acknowledgements

Heartfelt thanks to the Belarusian Community of the st. Gregory Peradze Chapel (Polish Autocephalous Orthodox Church) for the translations and our shared work.

Sincere thanks to the developers of the Łacinka converter for their help with the Belarusian text in the Latin alphabet.

We are deeply grateful to His Eminence Metropolitan Dimitrios of France, Hypertimos and Exarch of Europe, for the blessing to celebrate the Belarusian liturgies in France and for his support in organising the Christmas concert of our ensemble “Paparać-Kvietka”.

We deeply admire the Belarusian priests of Paris, without whom no service in Belarusian could take place.

We express our deepest gratitude to the Belarusian Paris ensemble “Paparać-Kvietka”, without whom this music would not come alive every month during our liturgies, and also concerts and festivals.

Heartfelt thanks to Ekaterina Anapolskaya, the conductor of the Russian choir of Paris “Znamenie”, for her trust in us and for the opportunity to take part in many concerts and festivals.

We thank the opera singer Katherine Yanoff for inviting our ensemble to her solo concerts.

We thank the organisers of the Saint Roch festival for the opportunity for our ensemble to take part in it.

We also thank the association “Enjeux de l’Étude du Christianisme des Origines” (EEcho) for inviting our ensemble to take part in the inter-church festival of Christians of East and West.
